Following Jeffrey Mansfield’s workshop on gestures for describing sounds, he produced a series of videos in order to put together an index. These, often illustrative gestures, account both for the attention deaf people give to particular sounds and for sign language’s specific regime of experience. This chapter was part of TACET, the first phase of research for Infinite Ear.
